2011 Ford Mustang GT
5.0 is back! 2011 Ford Mustang GT comes with a completely new advanced 5.0-liter V8, developed by a group of enthusiastic engineers fans settled in the common goal of producing over 400 horsepower.
The modern 5.0-liter four-valve cylinder head dual independent variable cam distribution (Ti-VCT) V-8 engine of the new Ford Mustang GT offers 412 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. At the same time, the fuel must be better than the previous model, unprecedented in the segment.
"This new 5.0-liter engine is the next chapter in the development portfolio Mustang Powertrain world class," said Derrick Kuzak, Vice President of Global Product Development. "This is a very modern engine for its time, delivering the performance and driving fun factor that the fans want, while improving fuel economy."
Coyote in the lobby
Many engineers in the development team has worked on the engine and electrical engineering building on the campus of Dearborn, Mich., product development center. For years, passed the original 5.0-liter V-8 Indy Coyote on display in the lobby, always inspired by its blend of heritage, high technology and power.
